In Hurumanu 2 we were told to research the former president of South Africa; Nelson Mandela.
Nelson Mandela is a black right activist. He fought against apartheid. Apartheid is an act that supported racism against non-white citizens of South Africa. Nelson Mandela helped to end this but this action landed him in prison for nearly three decades, he was let out and later became president in the 1994 election.
